About Us

Living with prostate cancer? We are here for you.

Prostate Cancer Support Ottawa (PCSO) is a local volunteer organization of prostate cancer survivors and supporters.

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian men, with one in eight men being diagnosed in their lifetime.

And that’s precisely why we exist.

At PCS Ottawa, we understand the many and complex needs of men and their family members throughout the prostate cancer journey.

As a result, we are here to:

  • Help men recently diagnosed with prostate cancer,
  • Provide support to men and their families who continue to live with recurrent cancer, and
  • Promote awareness of this disease and the associated issues.

We offer support to anyone in need of our services in the many communities of Eastern Ontario and l’Outaouais and their environs, including:

Ottawa, Kanata, Deep River, Pembroke, Renfrew, Arnprior, Carleton Place, Kingston, Gananoque, Brockville, Prescott, Kemptville, Winchester, Perth, Smiths Falls, Merrickville, Cornwall, Russell, Embrun, Hawkesbury, Rockland, Gatineau and Shawville.

Supporting you, every step of your prostate cancer journey

After a prostate cancer diagnosis, patients and their families must make a number of decisions about treatment.

But many people don’t know where to start—or even what questions to ask.

Meanwhile, these decisions are often complicated by feelings of anxiety, unfamiliar medical terminology, statistics, and a sense of urgency.
