Reanne Booker, RN, MN, Foothills Medical Centre Calgary
Reanne is an oncology and palliative care nurse practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in nursing. She works with the Palliative and End-of-Life Care Services Program in Calgary, Alberta. Her clinical and research interests include the integration of palliative care in oncology, sexual health and cancer, advance care planning, medical assistance in dying, cannabis and cancer, global oncology, and health equity. She is a PhD candidate, School of Nursing, University of Victoria. The focus of her PhD research is on the integration of supportive and palliative care for patients and their family caregivers undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for blood cancers. Reanne is the current President of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology/Association canadienne des infirmières en oncologie (CANO/ACIO).

Sexual health and intimacy are integral aspects of being human. There are many ways that a prostate cancer diagnosis can impact sexual health and intimacy, for both the person diagnosed with cancer and his partner. In this presentation, an overview of the potential changes in sexual health and intimacy that can occur after a prostate cancer diagnosis will be discussed. Strategies and therapeutic options (pharmacological and non–pharmacological) to help manage sexual health concerns will be shared.

Regular PCS Ottawa Meetings
Unless otherwise stated, Prostate Cancer Support Ottawa’s regular meetings take place at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 930 Watson Street, Ottawa [Map] on the third Thursday of each month except for July and August. There is ample parking at the back of the church.
Our meetings start with a social gathering at 6:30 pm, followed at 7:00 pm with brief business announcements, followed by either a guest speaker or a sharing session.
