Due to the current weather forecast the PCSO BBQ is being moved to St. Stephens Anglican Church [Map] (our regular meeting location). The date and time have not changed! (this Thursday, 7 September, beginning around 4PM).
When: This year’s new date is Thursday, 7 September, starting at 4:00 pm with food starting around 5:00 pm.
Please Note – Change of Location for our Annual PCSO Barbecue!
The current weather forecast for this coming Thursday includes rain and the possibility of thunderstorms, so rather than cancelling the event again we've decided to move it indoors at St. Stephens Church (930 Watson Street).
We'll still be starting around 4PM with food being served around 5PM (same caterer, same menu).
No need to bring lawn chairs as we'll be eating and socializing inside the church.
Please contact Doug Nugent (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) if you have any questions.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Thursday.
Reservations (please read carefully)
To be sure our caterer brings the right quantity of supplies, please complete one of the following actions not later than August 30:
A. If you had already reserved for the original August date and plan to attend on 7 September, please click on this link – .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) – to send Doug Nugent your email confirmation of attendance. Unless your attendance information has changed, there’s no need to tell Doug the number of people in your party or their burger choices.
B. If you had already reserved for the original August date and plan NOT to attend on 7 September, please click on this link – .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) – to send Doug Nugent your email notice of change of plans.
C. If you didn’t have the chance to reserve for our original August date and now plan to attend on 7 September, please click on this link – .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) – to advise Doug Nugent by email that you and possibly a partner and/or guest(s) will attend, and indicate your burger choice for each person in your party: Beef, Chicken, or Veggie. The sausage, (included), is mild German (pork).
Please note that if you are a recent member or have not been to a monthly meeting lately, or ever, you are certainly most welcome. The barbecue is a profoundly un-stressful occasion, and it is a great way to meet other people in our support group and guests in a very casual setting on the beautiful grounds of the Maplesoft-Jones Centre. Also please be aware, masks are recommended but not mandatory for activities inside the Centre.
We’re looking forward to seeing you and your partner for this festive occasion.
Regular PCS Ottawa Meetings
Unless otherwise noted, we hold Prostate Cancer Support Ottawa’s regular monthly meetings at the Maplesoft-Jones Cancer Survivorship Centre [Map] on the third Thursday of each month. We don’t hold meetings in the months of July and August, except for our ever-popular annual BBQ on the third Thursday of August.
We offer most of our meetings in hybrid format, allowing you to attend either in person or virtually. Watch our Meetings and Events website page or your e-mail inbox for meeting locations and specific registration instructions.
We normally start our meetings with a social gathering at 6:30 pm, followed at 7:00 pm with brief business announcements, followed by either a guest speaker or a sharing session.
