PCSO Saddened to Learn of the Passing of Longtime PCSO Member Bill Lee

We learned with sadness on 4 June of the passing of longtime PCSO member and strong supporter, Bill Lee.  Please read more at the link below for further information.

PCSO member Bill Lee passed away with his family by his side in the early morning hours of 4 June, after a sudden decline in his cancer-related condition.

Bill passionately supported the work of Prostate Cancer Support Ottawa for many years, notably in recent times organizing and attending two separate monthly coffee get-togethers to support PCSO members at the Billings Bridge and Carlingwood Malls.

Included here are the initial notification of Bill’s passing by PCSO Board of Directors member Chuck Graham, and the notice of a Celebration of Life and Faith to be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, 12 June 2026 at the Cedarview Alliance Church.

PCSO was informed earlier today that Bill Lee, a long time PCSO member, and former PCCNO executive board member, has passed away. Bill had been dealing with recurrent cancer issues for a number of years but his condition had worsened recently and then quickly deteriorated.

Bill, who often went by “Will” to avoid confusion with several other “Bills” involved with PCCNO board at the time, served for several years as our volunteer coordinator and even represented PCCNO at the 2012 annual PCCN conference in Regina. Bill only began stepping back from his volunteer activities when health issues forced him to slow down. Even then, Bill was a regular attendee at our meetings at St. Stephens Church before COVID necessitated our move to hybrid meetings.

In recent years Bill endeavoured to be in attendance at our annual Christmas dinners and summer BBQs, often emailing me in advance to ensure he knew which date to circle on his calendar.
