‘Light Up In Blue’ for September 2025 Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.  You can get into the spirit of bringing more awareness to your neighbourhood community about the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, the most prevalent form of cancer among men after nonmelanoma skin cancer.

Want to light up your residence in blue for September, Prostate Cancer Awareness Month?  We have plenty of free blue lightbulbs available for you to put in your front porch’s light fixture or elsewhere in your home.  Just register through this link for and join one of our two September PCSO meetings – Thursday, 04 September and Thursday, 18 September – at the Ottawa Cancer Foundation’s Maplesoft-Jones Centre.  Note:  Bulbs will be available only to in-person meeting attendees.

We’ve included here a few Light Up in Blue photos from lasty year –  one of the Ottawa Cancer Foundation’s Maplesoft-Jones Centre and one from a PCSO member’s front porch.  You also can check out Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada’s ‘LIGHT UP IN BLUE’ webpage to order a free blue light bulb, see the locations and landmarks across Canada that will be ‘Lighting up in Blue’ for September, enter a photo contest and more.  Take advantage of this opportunity to focus on increasing awareness of this highly treatable disease affecting Canadian men and their families.
