Care is based on an evidence-informed, integrated approach with appropriate follow-up. Cancer Care Ontario is an essential element of Ontario Health, established to equip health professionals, organizations and policy-makers with the most up-to-date cancer knowledge and tools to prevent cancer and deliver high-quality patient care. Most importantly for cancer patients, including those dealing with advanced prostate cancer, Cancer Care Ontario funds all costs related to the very expensive imaging, drugs, and procedures required to manage advanced cancers.

For patients living in Ottawa and nearby Eastern Ontario communities, the complex coordination of cancer drug benefits in particular is handled expertly by Extend Pharmacy (see link above in the Local section of this page).
