With regret, we must announce that we will cease production and posting of our PCSO newsletter The Walnut. It has not been possible to engage a full-time volunteer editor for this key element of communicating with our membership and visitors to our website. Many thanks to our devoted Walnut readers over the years.
We also extend our sincere gratitude to PCSO Board member Chuck Graham for producing the year-end editions of The Walnut for 2022 and 2023. It’s a complex, time-consuming task which Chuck assumed on top of his own busy schedule, to produce excellent collections of articles and stories of PCSO activities.
Walnut issues typically contain.
- Recaps of PCSO meetings and events
- Announcements about upcoming meetings and events
- Health and nutrition news
- Survivor stories
- Updates on new, innovative prostate and recurrent cancer treatment
- Research and diagnostics
- Photos, funny moments…and anything else we can come up with!
The Walnut Archive
The Walnut - September, 2014
Summer’s been great.
We’ve had such a time.
We’ve read and relaxed
But my hamstring’s not fine.
Still, we forge on
As physio fixes
The back of my front
Where that muscle affixes.
But here’s some new stuff
Our reporters have found
‘Bout prostates and cancers,
The news just abounds.
The Walnut - June, 2014
What a front page!
What an issue! Probably
the best we’ve seen in
an entire month.
The Walnut - May, 2014
This just in. Our editorial board – yes, him - has decided to continue NOT to sell The Walnut wherever walnuts are sold. The announcement has made shares in this terrific publication jump 0.00465 points on the TSE. And why not?
This issue, like its predecessors, has a little something for everyone. Read on.
The Walnut - April, 2014
WARNING!
THE NEXT MONTHLY MEETING WILL BE ON THURS., APRIL 24!!! SO, PLEASE, DO NOT SHOW UP FOR OUR MONTHLY MEETING ON APRIL 17!!! NO SERIOUSLY, DON’T DO IT! WE WON’T BE THERE. WELL, SOMEONE WILL BE, BUT IT WON’T BE US.
THE CHURCH NEEDS THE ROOM AND SO OUR MEETING WILL BE A WEEK LATER, ON THURS., APRIL 24.
(THIS HAS BEEN WRITTEN IN ANNOYING CAPS BECAUSE OUR EDITOR FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK. ANYWAY, DID WE GET YOUR ATTENTION?)
The Walnut - March, 2014
Variety, we hear, is the spice of life.
This explains why our March issue has something for everyone who has prostate cancer, had prostate cancer or ever thought of prostate cancer.
Plus, just letting you know that the book, “Understanding Women” is now out in paperback. See photo page 6.
